ICT has effected education in many different ways, such as a virtual learning environment (Moodle). There is a lot of different software that have been developed because of ICT for educational purposes, such as educational websites, for students to learn online. Bogging, for uploading work and learning from other blogs. Interactive whiteboard, for everyone to interact this can be fun and challenging. Distant learning, for people to learn from home, or from anywhere else with internet access.

Computers can teach classes better than teachers? Yes and no, because if a teacher cannot come into class on that day, people would miss out on what has to be done. Also there is no one looking at your work, cheaking if the work is correct. Though if computers would be teaching it could also be easyer to do the work at your own time, such as having the software on your computer, taking the work home and still having something to tell you what needs to be done (and in what way).

Medicine

Medicine can be used in ICT for many different things, such as the health service perspective, where the heath records are held in a database. Virtual training, such as "Virtual Surgery", witch takes you through each step of any surgery. This trains doctors on different operations, which can make is much easier to learn the real operation.

Manufacturing

CAM - Computer aided Manufacture is used by robots for repetitive use, such as putting car pieces together, welding each point and connecting everything. Robots can be useful for the quality, strength and cost.

CAD - Computer aided Design is used for drawing / templates. These can be used for the blueprint for houses, architects for the planning of the inside of the house. CAD can also be used by engineers for models of car parts.

Using I.C.T in a small business

A small business could use many different types of software applications, such as spreadsheets for storing information and calculating prices for different products. It could also be used to track pay to employees.

Graphics could be used for graphical documents, logos (pictures) or even headers for a business.

Word Processing can be used for writing a letter, invoice, memo and reports in a business.

Desktop Publishing can be used to create posters, leaflets and many other graphical documents using templates.

Data Base can be used to store a wide range of data. This data can be edited to show what matches the criteria.

Accounts within a small business can be usefull for many different things. Such as logging into a system account.

E-mail can be used to contact people of a business when they are not together or when they are in different building.

Internet Browser can be used for searching other businesses, or anything else.

Emailing is a good way of communicating over the past 50 years. Emails are easy to understand and replay to. It is important to communicate in a business even to people that are not in the same area or country, emails are a good way to provide this communication

Emails are getting more used more every day, a lot of workers are spending more time on emailing, sending and reading (Because of the increase of globalisation), sorting, ordering fragmented information and wighting emails. There are many viruses that can be obtained via email.

Online Shopping-

Stock control, credit / debit card use so it is not needed to take around money. receipt so you know what you have bought and the price of each item. self-use you can scan the items yourself and play into a machine.

Online Banking-

Easy to use and you don't have to go into a bank to take money out. Easy to get money from ATM's located around shopping centres. You could use credit or debit cards to pay for anything, instead of playing with cash and not actually going into the store.

While cheaking your banking account online, you could have an unoticed virus on your computer that you are using, a virus such as a "Keylogger" which tracks what keys you are entering on what program. You could be giving away your banking details.

Smart Phones-

Mobile phones have come along way, phones are being made smaller and more compact. Smart Phones have become most popular use of communication. Smartphones can be used for almost anything. With the unlimited number of downloadable applications, the GPS system and compact digital/video camera. Most recent spmartphones include the touchscreen with high-resolution. The most common mobile operating system (OS) used by modern smartphones are the Apple iOS, Google’s Android and Nokia’s Symbian.

Smart phones can also be a “distraction” to employees and students. Employees could be less productive being distracted by a smartphone. Students could be constantly checking their phone for updates to social networking websites or emails, ect. Smartpones could have an impact on out communication skills. Such as decreasing the interaction between workers, the reduction of verbal communication which could have the possibility of leading to miss communication.
